As the days get longer and the New Year comes, the ambitious mountainbikers are looking forward to check the race planning for the 2018 season.
In the calendar everybody should mark the 16th to 19th of August 2018. Then the second edition of the Rothaus Bike Giro Hochschwarzwald, the stage race for mountain bikers, which celebrated its successful premiere in the Black Forest last year as the successor to the VAUDE Trans Schwarzwald. More than 400 bikers tackled the “premiere” with two stages each around the Rothaus brewery and around the Feldberg. After four days Simon Stiebjahn from Team BULLS and Adelheid Morath from Team BikeSportWorld triumphed.
At next years edition, once again advertised for elite and non-professional bikers, the cards are not only remixed on the sporty side. The routes will also get a new coat of paint. While the 2017 starters first entered the stages around Rothaus and ended with the final two stages on the Feldberg, 2018 will be the other way round. There will be once again a prologue on Thursday up on the Feldberg with about 20 kilometers and 500 meters of altitude. This prologue is followed by three marathon stages from Friday to Sunday (Feldberg-Feldberg and twice Rothaus-Rothaus) with a total distance of around 215 kilometers and 5.800 vertical meters.
The first registrations were received shortly after the opening of the registration portal for the 2018 edition. Kai and Rik Sauser from the organizing company Sauser Event GmbH are expecting up to 500 mountain bikers for the second edition of the Rothaus Bike Giro Hochschwarzwald. After all, the terrain of the Black Forest guarantees a stage race of short distances and attractive, challenging trails. Those who register shortly before Christmas until 23rd ofDecember can benefit from a cheaper early bird price.
